Adobe Acrobat Form Question

I want to send circulate a form, preferably a PDF, and when it is completed by the recipient have it returned.
I acccept that most people would have Word etc. which could be used, but a PDF is a more convenient method.
If I use Adobe Acrobat 6.0 ME Professional to create a PDF form, can this be filled in by someone with Acrobat reader, and then sent back via email, or does the recipient require a copy of Acrobat Professional to return it?

If Reader is a non-goer, are there any other suggestions?

It should work but of course going on another machine or loading a virtual machine with the non pro acrobat would be a good test to make sure you can provide clear instructions to the end users -

You can also go under the Commenting menu and select 'Enable for commenting in Adobe Reader'. You will save as a new file and users without the pro version will be able to use all the pro commenting functionality in the document and save it with those changes.

Thanks for that Novie, but where do I find 'Enable for commenting in Adobe Reader' - I've looked and can't seem to locate it?

It is in the top drop down menus (eg File, Edit, View, Document, /Comments/, etc) - it is under Comments, however it does not show up there if no document is open. I am using Adobe Acrobat pro 8 at the moment but I think it is the same in 7 as well if I remember correctly-

Basils, the 'Enable commenting' feature was added to version 7, it would allow the user to save the file with their form data/comments in it, but it's beyond what you really need. You should be able to have people return the data they put into of a properly constructed form by including an email submit button. They would be able to print the completed form but not save the file for their own records if they wanted to for some reason.

Thanks for that Novie, but I don't think you can do it in ver 6.
