MS Picture It problems

Hi,

My friend uses MS Picture IT Publishing Platinum (2002) on his computer. Recently he has a problem that will not allow him to open any photos. A dialog box pops up stating

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\ProgramFiles\MicrosoftPictureIt!2002\pip.exe
abnormal program termination.

He has been using this program for years with no problems. He also has MS Digital Image Pro 7 and MS Digital Image Suite 10 on his computer that run fine. Though the MS Publishing Platinum 2002 is older he prefers to use it.

He is running XP Home with all the updates. The computer has 1 GB RAM with a P4 2.8 GHz processor.

I have uninstalled MS Picture It 2002 from his computer. Then I deleted all the temp files and cookies and then ran CCleaner. Then I reinstalled The Picture It software and had the same problem. You help is appreciated in resolving this problem. Thanks. Rob

I downloaded and installed "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributalbe Package" from the above link and still have the same problem. Any additional help is appreciated. Thanks.
