Problem installing programs

Hello,

I have a strange problem that I can't seem to fix.

The problem is that whenever I try to install software (in this case i am just trying to install the latest Turbotax software from a CD), my computer launches the setup program for another software program I already installed over a year ago. This software happens to be "Setpoint" by Logitech which is used to customize the buttons of my Logitech wireless mouse.

I spoke with Logitech technical support who worked with me to delete every possible program related to the Logitech Setpoint software but the problem still exists. They also had me delete files from the Temp folder as well but that didn't help either.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this problem.

regards,

Ok. I assume you went into the control panel and uninstalled setpoint.

Install CCleaner and let that run, and then run it for the registry. Let it delete what it finds, and hopefully will get rid of anything to do with setpoint.

Have you tried to manually click on the instal file from the cd? Does that bring up the same setpoint stuff?

Thanks shadowpr. I ran CCleaner and that seems to have fixed the problem.
