Opening PDF file preference.

Everytime I open a PDF file, Photoshop Elements opens it for me. I would much rather open PDF files with Adobe Reader. How do I change this without resorting to deleting Photoshop Elements? Is there a good alternative to Adobe Reader. They forced me to install a task bar in order to install Adobe Reader....I just want to keep things simple when I open a PDF file. I prefer to not have to install a bunch of unnecessary garbage in order to read PDF files. Can Windows open PDF files?

I personally dislike all Adobe products with a passion because of the intrusive nature of their software, and because of that I use Foxit Reader, a small unobtrusive pdf reader that is not always phoning home because it misses it's mummy and want's to tell on me for something...
You can get Foxit here from downloads.com.

I am not sure but the editor might work as well, which means you don't have to buy the nasty adobe pdf editor either.

I will second foxit. I personally uninstall Adobe Reader from any computer I work on, and replace it with Foxit.

If you want to open them in Adobe Reader, simply uninstall and reinstall it. The toolbar is OPTIONAL, take a little more time looking at the download pages.........

Thanks everyone I am going to give Foxit a try.

According to what I read, I had to download the toolbar, but they were oh so kind as to offer a way of deleting the toolbar after I got done downloading and installing Adobe Acrobat. I never saw any option to opt out like unchecking a box. My guess is they made it very difficult to uninstall the toolbar...so I did not even bother. ZoneAlarm Free version has stopped them from sending my personal information back to the mothership and from doing updates without my permission. Thank you once again ZoneAlarm for putting a stop to nefarious activities.
