I have WinXP installed on Drive 1. I want to install Win98 on a differenct drive. I have System Commander 9.0 installed on Drive 1. Can this be done and how?

Welcome to PCMech. What you want to do can be done. However, it is a bit more difficult in your instance. It's actually easier to have 98se installed first and to then install XP over that. The XP installer will recognize 98 and create the boot loader menu with that as an option.

If you wish to proceed as you are currently configured, it is possible. I found the information in THIS link to be excellent. There are a few more steps, but as long as you follow them carefully you'll be OK.

Thanks, but what I want to do is use System Commander 9.0 to do this. My question is how do I do that with two different disk drives? I want to have XP on one drive and 98 on the other.

I'm not familiar with System Commander. I do know that your 98 install will at least have to be on a different partition, if not a different drive. It has to be on a partition or drive formatted with FAT32 rather than NTFS. Remember, too, that 98 will not need a great deal of space. My 98se install with several programs added is on a 2.5GB partition, and nearly 2GB are still free!
