Transferring iTunes info (rating, playcount) to new computer

I've recently set up a new custom build and am in the process of moving all the data from my old computer to this new one. I used iTunes on my old comp and made extensive use of the 1 to 5 star rating system, the play counts, etc. I really want to transfer all that data along with the actual song files to the new computer. Any idea how to do this? I'm hoping things might be made a little easier since on my old comp, I kept all my music on an external HD, which I'm just plugging in to the new comp, so the music files aren't actually moving.

just try copying the whole itunes folder to your new computer.

iTunes keeps track of a library through the database file (.itl) found in the iTunes folder. iTunes does not automatically find music in a folder or on a drive. So on your old computer, there should be an ITL and an XML file in the iTunes folder. If you copy those to the new computer overwriting the ones there, iTunes should then see your library. Those database files contain what is in your iTunes library, among other things, so without the old one, iTunes has no library until you add stuff to it.

Just make sure the path is the same.
If the drive is "F" on the old computer is should be 'F' on the new one as well.

Also remember to de-authorize the old computer if you will not be using it to play anything from iTunes ( You're allowed 5 computers so this isn't pressing but it is something to keep in mind. ).
