?File names have changed color?

Did some writing and surfing I shut down. Next morning opened folder and noticed that "SOME", not all of the file names had changed color, to blue. So I went in to all the folders I could find and the same thing some were blue the rest were default black.

Some folders all the file names were blue

I ran Adaware, Webroot Spybot and a full comp scan from Norton, no bugs.

I tried looking for help in the Windows "Help and Support" but couldn't find anything related to changing File name color.

What the heck could cause this?

I swear the oddest junk happens to my pile.

Go to display > Advanced settings, and see if they have anything in there about colors of file names.

Found this with google: in windows explorer
Quote:
go to tools>folder options> view and deselect (show encrypted or copressed NTFS files in color)

Thanks big time shadowpr it worked, all file names are back to black.

I did notice that all the Windows folder ($NtUninstall) files are now black, however they were always blue.

I'm not talking sys files, but files I created myself, (games guides I've writen) currently working on one (it stayed black) but half the others went blue.

I even went as far as to do a restore 2 days before, no change.

What doesn't make sense to me is why some file names just switched to blue, (on their own accord) and some not.

That will happen when you run Windows Disk Cleanup. Default settings are to compress files that have not been accessed in the last (90 days?). I never run it, I use CCleaner to do my cleanups.

That explains it then earlier in the evening I cleaned house, scanning and defragging. Although, I've done this maybe 6 or 7 times since last August (Franky 4) and this was the 1st time that's happened. It never happened on earlier builds either
