Are you needing to be outside your network?
If not, any kind of Remote Desktop software would work. Windows has Remote Desktop build in. Here a list of some. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compari...sktop_software

Remote desktop requires router configuration at the host, Logmein does not.

I have ben useing Logmein and find it works well, however it is not th solution I am lookig for. Firstly, if I am accessing the server from a remote location the server monitor is activated and everything I am doing is shown on the server monitor. Second, printing is sent to the server pinters, not the remote printer. Third, I am only working with a small panel on my reote screen, not my entire screen. When I access the server I stop anyone else fro being able to access it, and I assume no one can even work from it's own terinal since I have taken control of it.. What I would like to be able to do is work at my remote computer as though I were just another terminal connected to the server, and print to my local printer. Is there a program that will geive me the ability to do this? The server operates with XP Professionel. The software I am accessing is Miatre D' Point of Sale for restaurants. The server is conected by wire to a router connected to a DSL modem for internet access. I would like to be able to use 3 or more computers from different locations.

This sounds an awful lot like you need a scaled own version of a corporate VPN.
Not my area of expertise but I did come across this a few days ago. Go here : http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=194680 You've got a good question to PM (personal message) Mojo. |
