Office 2007 Trial not uninstalling
I'm trying to uninstall the trial of Office 2007 that came with my laptop and I can't get it to work. I've tried going through the control panel to get rid of it, but it's not working.
Any thoughts? Thanks, Rich |

I'm assuming your on vista, In the search bar on the start menu type "Programs" and you should see "Programs and Features" pop-up, select this and uninstall Office from here. Maybe this is what you already tried but if that does not work...are you an administrator on this PC? Also Hello to a fellow cheese-head

I'm actually on XP home.
And I normally wouldn't mind the trial sitting there, but it's taking up 700mb and when I try to open my office files, it opens them in the trial edition instead of the full 2003 Pro version I have. And by cheese head, do you mean like cheese or a Packer fan? I love cheese, but i'm not a Packer fan!! =) Thanks, Rich |

What happens/doesn't happen when you try to unistall it?
You can right click on a word doc for example and select Open With....Should be able to select Word 2003 and also check the box that says "always use."

Well, normally when I uninstall a program through the control panel, it goes through the process and then the program's not on the list anymore. When I do that with this program, the screen flashes and NOTHING happens. It's still sitting there like I did nothing.
I've tried the "Open with..." option as well. The only Excel on the list is the trial and when I browse for other options, I pick the 2003 Pro Excel, but it still insists on using the trial to view the files. Oh, and I can view my Office files in the 03 version, I just have to open the program first, then open the file. So it's not like I can't used the full version I have, it's just really irritating that I can't get that darned trial off there. Thanks, Rich |

Can you try to reinstall the trial, and then uninstall it again

Maybe some part of it is running. Have you tried booting into Safe Mode and uninstalling it?
I found this not sure if it will help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927222 How can you live in Green Bay and not like the Packers, what a shame
