I just returned to work after a year of maternity leave. Apparently in January one (very large) company stopped being able to accept our Outlook invites. We got a new computer with Outlook 2007 and the problem remains.
My understanding is that the recipients view the invite as text but are not able to accept it into their calendar. All other companies and individuals have no problems accepting our invites. Any thoughts on what might be causing this? Of course this company has most of our business and there for I send the most invites to them. Thanks! |

Check the settings in 2007, if you haven't already. Find out if there were any security updates back in Dec/Jan that immediately preceded this, either at your company or the one you're doing business with. Go back to January and see if that company didn't send an email about some change in contact information that was overlooked at the time. Create a new address book with the most recent contact information from that company. If none of the above work it's time to find out if other people dealing with that company are having the same problem. What this comes down to is the fact that the "calendaring" works for everyone else you deal with and if it's not some error in contact information or settings then it's not something you can fix from your end.

I am not an admin just a POU (plain old user) so this may be totally offf track, your inquiry just struck a chord...
I read recently that a new form a spam is Outlook invites so your calander gets full of "Hey it's 9:00 do not forget to buy our fake ___________." on MSNBC Red Tape Chronicles titled "9 a.m.: Don't forget to read annoying spam! Posted: Tuesday, April 22 at 05:00 am CT by Bob Sullivan" http://redtape.msnbc.com/2008/04/tha...ess.html#posts Perhaps the invites were already set for denial at their end? Excerpt: "Microsoft Outlook users have several options, but none are ideal. There are instructions on Microsoft's site ( http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ou...300261033.aspx ) for turning off automatic acceptance of meeting requests, but that's (sic) doesn't keep spam invitations off the calendar as "tentative" meetings. A better method, says Cowings, is to have your Outlook Exchange administrator set up filters to turn away all meeting invitations that come from outside your domain."

No, I think that's a good surmise.
I'd also wonder if communication broke down somewhere and shannie just wasn't told. |
