Bitcomet issues?
Hey guys,
I posted this on their support forums as well but wanted to ask here too. Maybe someone here experienced a similar problem. I run vista 32 bit and have a dlink router with Rogers as my ISP. Everytime I try to download something, my internet gets disconnected. I have to restart my modem or computer for my connection to be back on. I'm using the latest version BC 1.01. What could be the problem? Is it possible that vista sees connecting to users as a threat and disconnects my internet? I don't think its my router because I've used other programs such as azeureus in the past with no issues. Any insight would be appreciated.

From your description Vista thinks there's a security problem with any download.
First guess, it doesn't think you've got permission to download anything. Disable the UAC and see if the disconnect recurs.

But I was doing some reading about port forwarding and I have one question, it says that if my ip and gateway are the same, then I don't have to port forward. But if they are different then I do. Now everything in my ip and gateway is the same, except for the last three digits. The last three digits in my ip is .100 and my gateway is .1, would this be the same? |

Yes it could so you'll have to do a little experimenting.
Everyone has their favorite reference page for setting up routers with various clients, this one is mine : http://www.zeropaid.com/news/6160/In...ort+Forwarding Last edited by pam123; 05-17-2008 at 03:01 PM. Reason: I need to watch the spelling .... |

Ok, I did not do any port forwarding or anything like that.
All I did was disable UAC and now everything works fine. I still don't understand how though. If I'm on a router, don't I have to use the port forwarding method? |

Without going through all your settings I can't tell you exactly what was happening with UAC and the router.
No you don't "have to" . |
