moving MS office over to Vista

Well as some know, I'm about to set up my new computer and I have yet another question...

I have MS Office on my old computer with Windows XP. I was wondering how I could get this over to my new Vista machine? Can I simply place the program file that sits in my Program Files on my HDD on my USB flash drive then move it to my new Vista Machine?

What steps can I take as I use Office quite a bit? Thanks all!

Nope, you need to install it using the Office CD. You can move all your data files, but not the programs.

i don't know if you can download MS Office. But you might be able to and then use your valid license.
Or
You could download Open Office and install that free of charge.

That is not legal.

Open Office is a reasonable substitute. It can read MS Office files and save in MS format.

I meant legally. Download a trial version and purchase a license if you like it (or something like that). But if MS doesn't offer it then it doesn't offer it.
