Can't find the purpose of this Icon.

I recently installed a new Asus P5K pro and EVGA Geforce 8800 and I got this icon but can't find the purpose, when I right click it it only says "Allow Balloon ToolTip" on it.

The thing is it has no ui, just a right click menu with that on/off menu. I tried to locate it in process explorer but couldn't find it.

That is the processor power mode icon when you install the Asus AI Suite.

I see. I remember seeing some configuration options in the Asus AI program but didn't mess with it because a couple of them had overclock on them.

Also is it normal for my processor temp to be lower than my system temp?

Yep. I believe the system temp on that board is the northbridge temp, which uses passive cooling. I had to turn off chassis Qfan on mine to keep the system temp in specs.

Right now, at idle, my CPU is 38 and the system is 41. Qfan is enabled for the CPU and the fan is running at 917 rpm. If I run the CPU fan at full speed (around 2200) it idles around 29 but makes a racket. When I had chassis Qfan enabled, the system was going over 50 and tripping the Asus Probe alarm. I have two 120mm fans, one intake and one exhaust, each running at 1500 rpm. Qfan was dropping them to around 850. I have a passive cooled 8600GTS which probably has some effect on system temp.

mine idles at 25 CPU/42-45 system which is pretty great, haven't tested it under load. I actually enjoy the sound of my pc's white noise to the point where it's hard for me to sleep in total silence.
