Driver and stuffs

Since I've been getting error relating to component drivers like insane, I just want to know some general, or not, info about driver.

Should I install a driver for my LCD? It's the 216bw. Current the system registered it as plug-n-Play.

Same goes for Mouse and Keyboard; Logitech Wave and mx400. Both are still only plug-n-play.

Do you recommend updating all the drivers, wat/ever it be, to the latest in general?

What errors are you getting?

I personally have stopped installing drivers for keyboard, and mouse.

I did install my monitor driver though. And have upgraded all my drivers with my last reinstall, but usually don't bother too much once I have everything working.

Same old one that I talked about in other thread.

Hm...Anything special from a monitor w/ driver? I know that w/ a driver or wat/ever you can rotate your screen.

Edit:

After checking out my driver w/ Driver Agent or wat/ever, my USB storage device drivers are apparently out of date. But how do I obtain the updates? for all USB update in general.

Those are chipset drivers so it's time to head over to your motherboard's web site and download the latest.

There may be a whole new chipset update or it may be just the usb driver update.

Pam has good advice on updating Chipset drivers. As far as monitor, mouse and keyboard, I always run the default drivers. The only time I load anything extra is if the user plans to use special mouse buttons or kbd hotkeys. Then I'll add the Logitech or MS software to enable those features.

Well, Gigabyte hasn't release any new chipset version for my board yet, so I guess it is just waiting time now.

Wait, why there?

I can use nVidia chipset instead? And that would replace Gigabyte's one as the Chipset driver for my board?

Your board has an Nvidia chipset. Gigabyte just plops it onto the board. That's why Gigabyte's driver downloads are all labled 'Nvidia'.

This has come up before.
I say "No" unless there's some major glitch that the support guys warn you about.
