Best Alarm Clock Software, Pref for Free...
My Alarm Clock is not cutting it anymore, I cannot stand waking up to the sound it makes anymore, just hearing it makes me want to kill myself in the morning. Not to mention I sleep right though it most morning, I think my brain is used to the sound now and it is not loud enough. I want to wake up to something soothing or something really loud and aggressive, I need to have the ability to choose any MP3 on my computer and wake up to that though my very nice and loud speakers!
Just doing a Google search on the subject brings up many choices, some free, some with a free trail and cheap to buy. Here are a few… http://bluefive.pair.com/alarm.htm http://www.ornj.net/citrus/ http://www.tarsoft.com/ Does anyone have any experience and or recommendations on which one to try or go with? I am sure they will all work fine and do what I want, Citrus just looks like it has a nicer interface but it is also not free. Just figured I would check here before I tried like 10 of them…

Try this one: http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptalarm.asp I haven't used it but I have used many other apps from this author and they all do what they say they will with a small footprint and no negative effect on the pc.

I have been using the http://bluefive.pair.com/alarm.htm
and while it is nothing Fancy, it does exactly what I want it too and is easy to configure. Karen's software is great, but I don't think that one lets you wake up to an MP3 of your choice, only a audio CD or wave file... |
