normal.dot error message
Good day all;
I am trying to get rid of an error message that is apparently related to my normal.dot file. I understand that the normal.dot file is a default file created by word. I think it is corrupt and the simple fix should be finding the normal.dot file and renaming it, so that word will create a new normal.dot file on restart. Problem is: I cannot find the normal.dot file anywhere in my computer. I am using Word 2003 and Windows Vista. I think some of my files are hidden and cannot find the file. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Look in somewhere along the lines of C:\Users\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates. I don't use Vista so I'm not 100% sure of that.
Note that Application Data is a hidden folder, make sure you have Explorer set to show hidden files and folders. Last edited by doctorgonzo; 07-21-2008 at 11:06 AM. |
