Any good software to fix corrupted JPEGs?

Had to recover my family photos off a drive on which the boot record and partition table had been totally corrupted. Got the JPEGs off the drive, but many are unusable now. I Google'd something like "fix corrupt JPEG" and a ton of different apps came up. Anybody use any of them or know if any are very good?

What happens when you try to open them?

Odds are they are gone with the wind.
