most times I shut outlook down i get error reporting appear. I choose to send but no fix has appeared yet.
I have updated XP pro to all the latest patches etc and it's doing this on 2 comps now. any ideas, i have searched but nothing is coming back quite like this problem and any more recent than 2006 - 2007 seems to happen more when i have logged off or switched user.... Have disabled error reporting in services.msc however this doesn't apply to office.

So if you close Outlook before closing the lid the problem goes away?
When you close the lid is the pc going into hibernate? |

no hibernate on either PC, the problem is intermittent but happens more once the internet connection is lost. Also can happen randomly after shutting outlook down.

You issue is probably related more to the loss of internet then it is to Outlook. Your Outlook is set to check mail after so many minutes...It is choking due to the loss of internet...
