Disappearing Icon

ok going to try to be as politically correct as I can here. Had a problem with getting my mail, the error said it was a network issue. Called my ISP (went to India I am 90% sure) she asked to be able to share my screen to correct the problem. Well to make a long story short (ok I know its to late) after much "discussing" over the phone as she was working on it we fixed the problem. I know its probably unrelated but after my computer restart my IE icon "disappeared" from my desktop.

Now I may be totally wrong that the tech support did this because it could have been gone for a bit and I just didn't notice. I also installed the newest Firefox and I have noticed some changes because of that installation, new icons and such. But I would like to get my IE back. I have tried starting IE off my program list (Windows XP Pro) but it hangs and I have to reboot. Any help would be appreciated like how to get my IE back or how to accesss my MSN mail through Firefox basically anything would help at this point thank you.

Did you try downloading IE7 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/dow.../getitnow.mspx. Don't know if you'll need to go into Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs and remove the current one. More experienced members might know.

Actually you can use Windows Live Mail and a bookmark : http://www.astahost.com/info.php/e-m...ox_t18670.html

Your other option is a complete uninstall and re-install of IE ( make sure you've got all your passwords and user ID before you do that. ).
