hmm...found one annoying thing I can't seem to get rid of...when you play a movie, the filename appears for a few seconds. Anyone find out how to disable that yet?

Are you talking about the white letters that pop up at the bottom of the screen when you first start? (Mine says "dvd://F" or something like that). If so, there seems to be two ways to disable that. First way...go to VLC's Tools menu and select Preferences. Go to the bottom left, under "Show Settings" and click the circle by "All". When the screen changes, click on the word "Video" in the list on the left (not the + symbol, the word). That should bring up a new listing in the righthand box. Unclick "Show media title on video" to disable it. The second way...in that same area, where it says "Show video title for x milliseconds", you can set that to zero and it will do the same thing as the first way. Every 1000 equals 1 second, hence the default of 5000 keeps the title up for 5 seconds. If this wasn't what you were talking about, lemme know. Hope it helps though.

yep, that was it. Thanks juppy

New issue: anyone running dual monitors? By setting the video output to DirectX in 0.8.6, I was able to move the video window back and forth with no problems. With 0.9.2 and setting the output to DirectX, it takes several seconds for the video to re-appear; in the meantime displaying a gray placeholder/overlay.
