extend hard drive bytes

I have an 80 g.b. hard drive. I somehow put the "C" drive with 6 g.b instead of 80 g/b.
Can I extend the "C" drive to 80 g.b. without re formatting the drive ? I put all my files on the C drive and it takes a lot of time & effort to format & start again.

Hopeful for a positive answer!!

What Operating System do you have?

If it's XP here is a freeware partition manager : http://www.cutepm.com/

But the truth is that, for 6 GBs, you should just nuke the install and start over from scratch.
This time paying particular attention to the partitions, after you remove the old ones, format the drive and begin from scratch.

If there's something you particularly need to keep burn it to disk or transfer it to usb device before you re-do partition (or before you nuke the current install.).

How do I merge or resize partitions using Partition Manager?
As of now, Partition Manager, does not support the merge and resize operations. Only add, delete and edit is possible.

This the home version which will resize partitions.

That looks like the first freebie that's even close to user friendly. I've looked at Ranish, and it looks obscure even for geeks.

I keep an on going list of possible freeware that I or a customer has tried out.
Cutepm is on it but my notes need an over-haul for that one.

In fact it's time to go back an re-do the whole list with updates.
I don't really have the time this week but when I do I'll post the whole collection for everyone to check out.

Smile hard drive resizing

Dear Pam123,

I tried easeus however iit did not seem to work for me.

I reformatted the 80 gb hard drive & started again to install "XP" .
At first it wanted to install it in the "D" drive but eventually I installed it in "C" drive and it is now o.k.

It was puzzeling as to why the installation kep wanting to put it in "D" drive .
I think it had something to do with "master & slave "on the hard drives .
The computer now runs well so I am satisfied.
Thanks for your help
