Setting Default E-mail
It has been a while since I have done it, and the process escapes me.
Question: How do I set Yahoo as my default e-mail in XP? Thanks for your help |

Do you already have it to receive email from it in OE? If so, in OE, open Tools - Accounts, then the Mail tab, select your Yahoo account, and set to default.

If you want to make the Yahoo webmail the default - control panel, Internet options, programs.

Two rails: I do not have my yahoo mail set up as an account in OE.
glc: When I go there it does not list Yahoo mail as one of the options on that list. What I was trying to remember was something about adding yahoo messenger and then the mail would be available on the options list. |

You probably have to install the Yahoo customized browser.

I finally found the information that I used before to set Yahoo Mail to be my default.
http://help.yahoo.com/l/uk/yahoo/mai...ttings-10.html So far it doesn't like me and will not let me complete the task. It says I don't have Administrator status to make all of the changes. My user listings have 1 Me and 2 guest. I am not sure what I will have to do to get it to work with me. When I used this method before, I ended up with a Yahoo Mail icon on the desktop, this turned out to come in handy at times because it was quicker to go to it than to open up my front page. Boot it up in safe mode and log in as "Administrator" - and make sure the "Me" account has administrator privileges.
