Excel Problem

Today one of my friends brought in her PC she has Excel (office 2003). The problem she is having is nothing I have seen before.
She says she was printing an excel sheet to Adobe .pdf format and all of a sudden about 100 other excel sheets opened and she couldnt close them accept from task manager.

When I tried it, regardless of any Excel sheet I tried opening from her hard drive a chain of corrupt excel sheets would open in a split second, they had what looked like machine code instead of English and numbers.

I copied a couple of her excel sheets to a thumb drive and tried them on another machine and they opened fine.

I uninstalled office 2003 from her machine, removed the Office 2003 folder from Program Files rebooted the machine the reinstalled Office 2003 again. That still did not work. It keeps doing the same thing.

Any help here would be apprciated.

Try a restore point first, if you still can, and check for malware.

If necessary you can do an OS repair/reinstall.

No, I did a windows repair and that fixed it. I wished i had the time to figure out what caused it though!
