Very annoying pop-up
I've used Musicmatch Jukebox for years and several months ago, this pop-up, popped up. I continually declined the offer. The date stated is long gone and the web page no longer exists, yet I have to close this window every time I want to play my music. I have received no help from the parties involved, so I was hoping one of you kind people could help me get rid of this pop-up window, perhaps going into Windows itself and excising this cancer. I've tried registry cleaners, but to no avail. A screen cap of the window is below. I am using WinXP home edition. Thanks for any help.

I thought they were bought out by yahoo music or something. Do you have the latest version?
Also, did you check the settings. I think I remember an option for popups like that somewhere in there. (I jumped ship after the switch to yahoo.)

Thanks guys, for your response. I could not find any pop-up option, so I decided to uninstall the old version and install an even older one, version 7.5 as glc stated. I hope it is a "lite" version as I found the later versions to be ponderous. Even before the pop-up situation, it would take 45 seconds to load. Ponderous indeed.

7.5 is very light compared to the newer versions.

Uh oh...Some thing's amiss. I uninstalled MusicMatch version 9 and tried to install 7.5. It would not install. Task manager said it was not responding. I tried everything I knew, to no avail. I used the add/remove programs to remove the old version and although it is no longer on the list, the MusicMatch folder is still in my program list. I tried to delete it, but it won't allow me to. I use a program called Unlocker for just this purpose, but it does not help. I figured the 7.5 wouldn't install with the remnants of the version 9 still on the machine. However, I recall having problems installing a few programs before. It seemed I had InstallShield problems. I thought they went away.
So, I decided to do a System Restore to yesterday. Now, I can't even get MusicMatch to open when I double-click the shortcut. I went into the folder and tried the executable file. Nothing. It sits minimized, and when I right click it, it will only have the close option. When I close it, I get an error message saying "Install.Exe" is not working.? I'm officially lost. Any help with this? |

Reinstall version 9 and then try for a clean uninstall.
