Microsoft Word object error

For some reason, every time I try to bring up MS Word, I get a message which says "Could not load an object because it is not available on this machine". I click OK and it works just fine. I have done quite a bit of Googling to find the cause of this but so far have found nothing that I can understand which explains this particular problem in Word.

I am using MS Word 2002 SP 3 on an XP machine. Virus checker and all updates from MS are installed and completely up to date. I don't recall doing anything particularly strange before this happened except I may have installed some software that is all virus-free.

Any help would be greatly appreciated to help me get rid of this annoyance. TIA
