Microsoft Outlook 2007 Question
I have 2 computers and 2 different employee's... We have one main email account and only want one...
Situation is: We want to use Outlook that sends and receives on computer #1 and ONLY send on computer #2... I have it currently setup as a normal account settings on computer #1 and everything is fine with that computer... The problem is with computer #2... My current setup on that is just as computer #1 but instead of using "pop.bellsouth.net" for the incoming server, I put "null" so that computer #2 does NOT steal incoming emails from computer #1... We don't want computer #2 receiving incoming emails because computer #1 doesn't see them and computer #1 is the one who needs them... Understand? If not, I'll try to clear whatever seems fuzzy... The problem with my current setup is that when I try to send emails that have files or pictures attached to it, it freezes during the sending process because the "send/receive" gets an error during the process of trying to receive emails (because I made the incoming server info as "null")... Small emails with just text have no problem sending, only larger emails... I need to fix this problem but don't know how... |

On a different note, the Microsoft LDAP Directory ALWAYS shows up when I start Outlook on computer #2... It has the default information: "NULL" (server name), "3268" (port), "NULL" (user name), and "_____" (password)... I usually just click "OK" and it sends me straight to the main outlook page... Anything I can do to skip that step?

Both computers are setup with user name and password... The only difference between the two is the incoming server on computer #2 I put the value as "null" so it doesn't receive emails... There is nothing to hide in these emails so we don't mind if computer #2 has the user name and password stored in it...

Why don't you just set up #2 to receive, and set it to "leave copy of messages on server"? That way, #1 will always get all e-mails.

GLC,
Just to verify the results when I do this, both computers get the email but they are not stealing like it was before... So computer #1 and #2 is getting the "test" email instead of before which was whoever opened the program first would steal it... This is fine because we can delete everything in the inbox that comes in as long as computer #1 gets them (which they will now)... |

What can I do to get the LDAP directory to go away when I start the program on computer #2?

You may even be able to set a filter on #2 that will automatically delete all new e-mail.
Outlook 2007 If you are not using Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) Internet directory services, remove the LDAP address book. To do this, follow these steps: Start Outlook. On the Tools menu, click Account Settings. On the Address Books tab, click the LDAP address book that you want to remove, and then click Remove. Click Close. Exit and restart Outlook. |
