SYNC Back issue

Hello all
Iv setup SYNC Back for my Dad because he gets a little confused with the concept of copy and paste when packing up his work files. I have it all setup but when I run the profile I get this error.

Any ideas on how to get this to stop.

Thanks
Chris L.

Error can mean many things, like network, ntfs permissions for file/folder, source and destination http://www.2brightsparks.com/help/in...kb&article=205 or it can be because of strange bugs with specific hardware http://2brightsparks.com/bb/viewtopi...nnot+copy+file - fix for that was to uncheck "Safe copy" option - in copy/delete - Advanced or close to. Also has to do with permissions - temp file being renamed if successful copying, if allowed!

Here is example of simular problem and a solution http://2brightsparks.com/bb/viewtopi...nnot+copy+file

Unless someone has better ideas check that forum, dedicated to freeware version. The "(5)" in error message is important to look for, many dif. types of copy errors.

Thanks much for your input , however none of it helps with my issue. I'm so confused as to how I can manual copy and paste the excell sheet but SYNC back refuses to copy it.

Can anyone recommend a program that will work ?

Thanks

Your photo looks like its also looking at the recycle bin??
You should be able to tell Sync back which folders to sync.

Ya Im not to sure what thats all about. I did say what folder I wanted to SYNC. It had nothing to do with the recycling bin. I must say SYNC back is a great program but a little overly complex when something dosnt work. I went and used this old Iomega program that I had from an external I once perches t.

Yeah I got paid version and complex is the right term for options - but in a nice way, if all set up correctly it becomes flexible not complex

Also why I ask if you remembered to uncheck "Safe copy" option. Since I dont have freeware version I dont know exactly where it is. The thing about you being able to redo the very same copying manually is mentioned more than once on their forum. Safe copy does some tricks by making a temp file which is checked and then officially placed on source. Placing meaning renaming and why some permission problems can occur. Something like that.

I've been using Microsoft's Sync Toy with great success in syncing files from work to home and back.

Give it a try, it's free.
