Help with Merging Three Partitions into One

I have been posting questions on these boards over the past few days, and the people here have been very helpful. As such, I just want to extend my gratitude to all of you!! It's much appreciated.

I just installed a 2nd, much larger HDD and I now want to change the partitions on my first HDD. My first HDD is an 80GB drive that has three partitions (c:, d:, e. I now want to have only one partition on this drive, then have two partitions (d:, e on my 2nd drive. The d: partition will be 100gb and will be used to automatically back up my first drive, then the e: partition will be used to apps and files.

I have Partition Magic 8.0 and would like to know how well this will do the trick for me. Does the DriveMapper do a good job redirecting the application initialization files to the new drive, or are there problems with this? (I would rather not have to reinstall a bunch of applications.) Finally, if I'm going to do this, should I Merge the partitions or Delete them through Partition Magic?

Thanks in advance!

Since you want to keep the data - I'd stay away from the Delete option

Okay, do not delete partition. Thanks.

Does that mean that I should Merge partitions rather than Delete. Correct? Thanks again.
