How to set Program for all accounts?
I"ve always had MS Works on the computer, I just noticed it was missing, (don't know how) I still had saved projects using the program but couldn't find it.
I reinstalled the prog and then discovered it is only on my account and not the rest of the family accounts. At one time it was available on all accounts and I know I didn't manually install it to each. Is there a way to get the program on all accounts without installing it 3 more times? We have XP pro sp3 |

Go to Set Program Access and Defaults
In this case it should be set to All Users It's a little late for this now but the next time an installed program disappears you have to do some detective work. With just what you've given us to go on we're at a stand still and except for the re-install we've no idea what you tried. Check Event Viewer, run your security software and check for recent installs of anything (It's all suspect till shown otherwise.) Also ask other users what they've been doing and try a restore point.

Right click on the Start button, Open.
Right click on the start button again, Open All Users. Find the shortcut for Works in the first window and move it to the appropriate place in the second window. |

Thanks GLC that worked. I knew there was a way, I'm pretty sure I had to do that for some other prog a few years back. Still, having it disappear in the first place is crazy.
