AIM instant message -video only works one way

I wonder if anyone has any ideas on what to try. I had the old 5.9 Aim and an old cam. The picture was bad, I've been wanting a new one for some time so I bought a new Logitech. At first my son and I could see and talk to each other with the old cam, but not the new? I ended up upgrading the IM to the 6.8version. The cam works well, Aim works but we can't video IM.

Since I could on the older version of IM I changed to the old version of 5.9. I can now see him and hear him, (bad picture in comparison) but he can't see or hear me. We have tried everything and don't know where else to go.

Any ideas?

Thanks ahead........ I hope you can understand what I am trying to explain...... lol

I'd start experimenting with other IM clients that are video capable.

My stepdaughter uses Oovoo to video chat with her husband in Iraq. It seems to work very well.

I used yahoo messenger to video chat with a girlfriend in a different country as well.

If it's a router issue, that can often be solved by enabling uPnP in the router.
