uploading video file
My son's trying to upload a video to youtube. He knows how to upload it and all, but now the file type's wrong. It's listed as an amcp file. Neither of us are aware of an amcp file. The file's listed as something like:
Crazy_Train.amcp So I know it's supposedly a "file-type". I've tried many converters yet they aren't reconizing the file. Even youtube wouldn't upload it because the "file-type" was wrong. Anyone know what this "amcp" is or of a file converter I can use? Also the program I used was called auto-movie-creator or something like. So they're obviously the initials, but the way the file-type is displayed, it's supposedly a "file-type". |

Does the program you used have a Help File section to help you convert it to something Youtubes can deal with?

Or can you just open it up in that program again and save it as another filetype like mp4?

Will have to check for a help file. Will also try the 'save as' method. Thanks for the suggestions.

That app should tell you what kind of video file it really is, regardless of file extension.

Sounds like your software saved it as a proprietary project file. It is going to have to be exported to a standard file format. In the audio world, Audacity does the same thing - saves the project, which has to be exported to a .wav, .mp3, or .ogg file using the save as/export function in the program.

So being a propietary file type, it may not even have the option to save as different type.
Thanks for the info. It's my son's project, but it may give me something to fiddle with for a while. |

The software should have a save as or export option - like I said, Audacity does. Your son just neglected to do it and took the default save, which is save as a project. Open the project in the software and finish the job.

Got it, thanx. I'll be sure to pass that on to him.
