Which is the correct Ghost

I want to create a Ghost image of my HD to DVD's or another HD, I have used N.Ghost 2003 in the past, but I don't think this version can see a SATA drive only PATA.

Does anyone know which Dos based N.Ghost works with SATA drives.

Regards John

I would suggest you use Acronis True Image instead.

I don't want to use Acronis as from what i can see of this program it works under Windows, I want to be able to copy an image using N.Ghost I have version 2003 under Dos, and it works well but does not see Sata Drives so I want to use a later version that does, and as there are so many versions I want to be able to get the correct one.

For what it's worth, Acronis True Image works off of the bootable cd, and does not require windows at all. It also sees sata drives without problem.

I will second that:

it works very well from the boot cd/floppy, you do not run it under windows and it does sata drives, also I can burn the files to dvd re disks, as it also has the option to break the image down to the size you want and numbers the files in the split files.
I am doing this right now with vista home premium.
its a learning experience for me.

Thanks very much for the advise, I have a trial copy so will try and see if it works for me.
Do I have to boot to DOS than run Acronis or does it have self boot.

Run it from a bootable CD.

I used the Acronis True Image Boot CD, and it worked a treat,Booted using CD and info is a lot easier than Norton Ghost, did clone to another Hard Drive and then backup entire hard drive to DVD using the same DVD rom/writer I had boot cd in, i'm converted.

Thanks very much for help.
