Firefox Dose not remember
I have used firefox for a long time and prefer it over the other browsers. Suddenly Firefox does not remember my ID and Password for my home page and other sites. My Profile shows the passwords but Firefox does not pull them up. Internet Explorer pulls them up without a problem. My problem with Explorer 8 is frequent load up failures. Any ideas to solve the Firefox problem?
Running XP with 2 gig memory.

Last week Fire Fox updated and I spent 5 minutes re-doing permissions.
It sounds like you got the update and didn't re-do the permissions.

When you pull up one of those web pages do you see a tool bar that says : Do you want Fire Fox to remember this log in ?
It should be at the top of your monitor window, it's fairly thin. Say yes ( and, if you want to, do it for all the sign ins it appears for.) and for the other pages they just require you to sign in individually after the browser changes (for any reason) so you'll need to re-do that as well. I usually use things like this as reminder to re-think my automatic sign-ins. |

Make sure that when you clear private data, you do not clear saved passwords. You might want to do that now - ONCE - and then the remember bar should surely come up.
