If you're *looking* for a piece of software to do a page layout, the top ones are MS publisher, Adobe InDesign, QuarkExpress. Some free ones are OpenOffice Draw and Scribus.
Most of these have language add-ons.

That is probably beyond the scope of these forums - you probably will need to find a dedicated programmer's forum.

I think SourceForge might be a good place to start. You may find that others are already at work on the task you want to attempt.

I have looked at Sourceforge and other simillar sites no luck yet. I thought as this a Forum for people who are into computers that some one might have some information or know someone who might be able to help me. That was the reason for this post.

I have received a lot of help from this site, but it just doesn't seem a good match for what you need. Sorry. Hopefully either you will find a better fit, or someone here can help you find that fit.

Here's a site that include software development that has a somewhat similar atmosphere to PCM:
http://forums.devx.com/ However, the first question you should ask is what will your application do that's different and unique from all the other alternatives out there? Also, do you have any experience in programming? If so, what language(s)? |

Thanks for the input,
There is only one DTP software available called Inpage, and is no where close to what is available for other languages it is mainly because of the scarcity of the fonts for our language and this is the special reason or niche that is there in this market. All commercial softwares do not support our language (URDU). I am a novice programmer, I know Fortan, Basic, and Little C, I have done programming in Dbase and FOx base also. I am looking for examples to study and understand the problem at hand and to learn how to start wotking on this project, I know this not easy but I am willing to put time and effprt to achive it. |

Hi Alfie2,
Thanks for the reply, I will search on planet source code and see if I can find some thing that can help. I will keep looking like the saying goes "when there is a will there is a way" it is just a matter of your willingness to find the answers. Look forward to hearing more positive replys. Thanks |
