-Wake up! Has this dream stopped? The snake was pale gold Glazed and shrunken
And she was beside me Ooh, she's not young Her dark red hair, her white soft skin
Now, run to the mirror in the bathroom, look She's coming in here I can't live through each slow century of her moving
The smooth hissing snakes of rain...

Vista 64 bit or wait for Windows 7 and get the 64 bit version of that one.

Up to you. I'd personally use XP 32 until Windows 7 is out and debugged.

It's more of a personal choice.

There is no problem with vista 64 sp1. As long as your hardware can handle it, and all your programs can run on it, and there are drivers, you'll be fine.

I ran vista hp 64 for a long time, and was very happy.

The version of windows 7 that is out, is not the official release, and will require you to delete it and then install another version.

Black is not legal. If you want 64 bit, you can only get it in Home Premium or Ultimate afaik. Windows 7 is still in beta, it won't be released till November.
