recommend an alternative to Nero dvd copy (non-protected)?
Hi
Can anyone recommend a freeware Windows app for making duplicates of non-protected dvd videos? I have Nero Suite, but have not had a single good result using the 'copy dvd' function on Nero BurningROM. I always get 'internal failure' messages.... Many thanks for any advice / comments

Burn4free (don't get fancy with it) : http://download.cnet.com/Burn4Free-C...-10217894.html
Imgburn : http://www.imgburn.com/ CDBurnerXP : http://cdburnerxp.se/ All are effective freeware burners but without some idea of why Nero has just quit on you there's no guarantee that they will work either. We need some history from you. Has Nero ever worked, when did it quit, that sort of thing. The more details the better and make sure your computer still recognizes its burner and post back the info.

Hi Pam
Thanks for the recommendations - Imgburn worked a treat, first time. ![]() I don't know what it is about Nero BurningROM DVD Copy function - it has never worked for me. I have Nero Suite 7, done the standard install, all other BurningROM functions work fine. DVD Copy function doesn't work on this PC, or my old Dell. It copies the original, and makes a good go of writing the blank disc, but just crashes at the end with an 'internal failure' message related to the burner. I looked at the copy dvd, and it looks to have written most all of the data, and crashed at the last moment. the copy dvd is a coaster, unreadable by pc. computer still recognises the burner, and Imgburn did the read and write with no fuss at all. Sigh. No complaints about Nero otherwise. |
