Internet Explorer Properties

I am trying to help a friend who has a somewhat new Dell desktop.

I was directing him to right click on his IE desktop icon to bring up the properties menu for his Internet Explorer. He did this and we found that he only had 4 tabs available for his IE options.

Since we were trying to change his homepage we checked each of the 4 tabs and did not find this homepage option.

On my system the IE properties menu has 7 tabs and the homepage option is on the "general" tab.

He later informed me that another one of our friends has the same problem.

Anyone know what is going on here

Send a message via AIM to Panama Red
Why not open IE, click on the Tools icon near the top right, select Internet Options at the bottom of the drop down box and use that to change the home page. You can also use Internet Options to customize your Tabs.

The Tools>Internet Options suggestion that PR gave should work. Only other ways I know of getting there is 1)try going into the Control Panel and there should be an Internet Options icon in there that you can try, or 2)you can go the long way around and try the executable directly. Go to the Run box in the Start menu and type in inetcpl.cpl then hit enter. If that doesn't open it up, then something might be messed up with IE.
