Need a strong uninstaller program to get rid of a corrupt ZoneAlarm

I hope someone came recommend a strong uninstaller program to get rid of a corrupt ZoneAlarm fire wall. I have tried to uninstall from the Add/Remove Software in the control panel/use Zonealarm uninstaller/manually delete file/tried CCleaner and they all fail with the message "Validation failed at c:xxx.xxx.xxx\vsinit.dll and vsdata.dll You probably are missing a necessary root certificate"
What is wierd is that I have internet access to a few sites but most others time out.
Zonealarm is turned off in Startup. The connection issues are with both IE and Firefox.
About the time that Zonealarm seem to have gotten corrupted, I tried a couple of FTP clients. One didn't work so uninstalled it and then installed Filezilla ftp client.

Also, can't get the PC to go to the Safe Boot menu with the F8 key.

I know that a nuke and pave is a last resort which I would like to avoid.

Did you try to reinstall zonealarm, and then uninstall it again?

I use Revo uninstaller (free). It removes everything including leftover registry settings. Works great.

Send a message via AIM to sgtspector
I don't know if it qualifies as 'strong" but I have used this to un-install stubborn programs before.
