Phoenix SecureCore password
OK, my mother in law, (who has no business around a computer anyway), got a new Acer Aspire 6930 about a month ago. Everthing is great until about a week ago, and she says her computer quit working. I went to look at it and here's what it does: from a cold start it shows the Acer flash page then it asks for a password. During startup, if you press F2 it takes you the BIOS screen but still with the password. After three falied attempts it locks you out. Gotta turn it off and start over. She says it just showed up, but I know better. Is there ANYWAY to bypass this? If not, what other options are there?

As per forum rule 9, we can't help you with bypassing passwords. However, it's common knowledge that you can remove bios passwords by clearing the cmos. Your best bet is contact Acer support.
