MS Excel Problem

Hello,

Everytime I open MS Excel 2002 I get a pop-up message that says excel can't find a certain file that was already deleted. How can I make Excel stop trying to open this file on startup?

See attached screenshot.

thks,

This may give you a clue what's happening:

Check your Excel startup folder.

The folder specified in the At startup, open all files in box on the General tab of the Options dialog box (on the Tools menu, click Options).

Thanks for the reply.

I checked Tools>Options> General and there are no files listed in the "At startup, open all files in:" field.

It looks like the popup is referring to an add-in since it has a .xla file extension.

Previously, I actually un-installed Excel and then re-installed it and it still does the same thing.

Thanks,

This is a pain but did you check to see if a copy of that file is still around ?

Try going to Tools > Add-ins and see if its listed there. You should be able to disable it here.
