Removing Boatware Q's

I just received my Lenovo Y550 yesterday and I want to remove most of the bundle software that came on the HDD. I thought I might mention too that I still need to upgrade to W7 (came with Vista 64).

How can I do this most effectively and efficiently?
Should I remove the partition that the bundled software is in?
Can anyone that is familiar with Levono laptops suggest which bundle software is worth keeping and/or trying.

Sorry for what might seem like dumb questions, but my tech level is some what low (I'm still a noob) and would rather try to get my PC running smooth rather than run it with all that bundled crap that I don't need.

Thanks

Make the acquaintance of this very handy, and free, utility : http://www.pcdecrapifier.com/

When it's done its job upgrade to Win7 and then use the Win7 backup to image the hard drive in your archive and give it a special label so you don't delete it by accident.

Need to re-install later (Happens to everyone.)?

There's your image, de-crapified, waiting for you.

Pam, thank you very much. I tried googling it and most of the suggestion were just the obvious, using control panel (which I know will leave a lot of junk floating around).

Thanks agian for the link and advice. I'm sure I'll have some more questions later and it's good to know that I can get help and solid advice from these forums. Kudos

As soon as I read the title of this thread, PC Decrapifier came to my mind immediately. That program works wonders for removing all the crap that comes on a pre-built machine.

When I got my Sony Vaio notebook several years ago, there was literally over 45 programs installed that I would never need. Pc Decrapifier removed all those programs in under an hour; a task that would normally take around 5 hours to uninstall everything manually.
