1. No idea, but I would assume you could, but you may need to run it in XP compatibility mode.

2. Only if you dual boot it - boot to XP. You won't be able to boot to 7 and run Quicken without actually installing Quicken through 7. You also won't be able to just transplant a XP drive into a different computer and expect it to boot without a reinstall.

Hey GLC Thanks for the quick reply...but I didn't want to boot from the XP drive just go to it and use Quicken.

I have a new mother board and I installed a new hard drive and also installed the old hard drive . If I go to my computer and find a program I cn run it from the old hard drive. Make sense

You may be able to run SOME programs directly from the old hard drive, but it's really hit or miss.

I believe if you right click on the executable file (NOT just the shortcut) you will have a compatibility mode available in the property sheet.

I ran Quicken 2007 on Windows 7 with absolutely no problem, very straightforward. Quicken 2005 (which I had previously,) is basically the same as 2007 so there shouldn't be any problems or idiosyncracies. I upgraded recently to Quicken 2010 on Windows 7 and it runs as always, quite well with no problems.
