Deleting file info
Hey folks
So if I opened a document in Notepad, deleted all the content, entered some entirely new content, and resaved the file, then the old content is gone forever and cannot even be retrieved by expensive methods correct? I am mainly concerned with say I have to sell my computer with that type of important data on it. And yes I do understand that most people will just reformat the hard drive in order to solve the problem but I will still like to know if this is true. As I understand it, ram memory is destructive and any data lost there is gone forever. Of course this won't work for everything on your hard drive I know but in the above scenario it would be nice to be assured if this is true. Thanks for feedback |

If you are that concerned, zero fill the drive with a multipass utility such as DBAN, then reload it.
