CCleaner Question

After a Net session I always use CCleaner, analyze then run. I have all appropriate boxes checked, Using Firefox. Regardless of how long I've been on the session, CCleaner always says 2.00 kb to be removed. Seems there would be much more than that of cookies, Internet cache and history. Makes me think CCleaner is missing that and I remember earlier versions of it showing much more info to remove.

Are you sure you don't have Firefox set to delete it on close?

In Firefox, tools, options, advanced, have offline storage set to 50mb of storage for cache. I purposely surfed for the longest to build it up to something. CCleaner always says 2 kb to be removed.

Check the following in Firefox...

Tools --> Options --> Privacy Tab --> Check the "Firefox will:" drop-down menu and see if it is set to "Use custom settings for history"

If it is set to custom settings check to make sure that the "Clear history when Firefox closes" box is NOT checked. If so, then every time you close Firefox all of your history, cookies, cache, active logins and temp files will be deleted.

I'm thinking this may be your problem.

Why not just do that instead of running CCleaner?

Or if you want to pick and choose when it does it, use private surfing.

In CCleaner's advanced options make sure the "only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 24 hours" is unchecked.

I don't know. Good question. Maybe my paranoia perhaps or most likely is. Something deal with everyday but ok. Just like erasing my tracks, not that I do anything, yada, yada, yada. When I start cutting up my mail into little bitty pieces before throwing away, I'll know it's time to really worry.

I am the same way SARGE... I get it from my father and there is no doubt in that! He is the same way too.
