hi guys,
I don't know if this is the right forum for this, if it's not, please move it where it should belong. I have two questions, beeing doing research for it, but haven't found any good info yet, hoping you guys could help. 1. I have Windows XP sp3, the HD has two partitions on it, originally I was using one for the OS only, and the other partition is for applications and whatever else I have. But over times, myself and my other family members have mistakenly installed applications in the partition for OS only, so now I am trying to correctly that problem by moving things back where they belong, but I don't know how to separate the OS files from the other files. I looked at partition magic but, it only manipulate the partition (i.e. expand or shrink or make another partion), not the actual data itself. Do you guys have any recommendation? 2. Lately, when I print an article from a website, the text is really small, eventhough the text on the site is perfectly normal. It happens on both my XP desktop and Vista laptop, is there setting some where that would fix this? Thanks for all your input in advance guys, sorry for a long post. Thanks again Nhan |

You can't simply "move" installed programs and there may well be a problem with the files you created with a program if you change the file path.
Your best bet, after backing up all data files, is to uninstall the programs from your OS partition and then delete any data files that were there as well. Now re-install the programs to the partition you wanted them on in the first place. That done you can then use the back up to copy data into the correct folders. Be warned that not all programs take kindly to this, the 'C' or nothing group, but most should make the switch. The best way to avoid this in the future is to make yourself the admin and everyone has to check with you before installing anything. Is there a "shrink web page to fit" command for your printer ? Some one may also have changed font sizes so check that as well.

1. Uninstall the software, then reinstall it in the correct place.
2. Look at the print settings carefully in the browser, you may be telling it to shrink to fit. |
