Checking compuer processing ?
Hey guys,
this might sound a bit weird, but lets give it a shot: basically, i have a Logitech keyboard, that's part of the Logitech MX DUO - its pretty old, but i think its still one of the best and i use it constantly.. the problem is that their software doesn't support windows 7 64-bit, which is my OS. the software allows you to control the hotkeys that are built into the keyboard itself - theres 8 keys that you can customize (if the software would support that) and only a few more which control multimedia (most important). basically - i came to a realization that i won't be able to use those normal program hotkeys unfortunately, because i can't program them (although they DO work, for example the e-mail hotkey opens thunderbird etc.. so if you can think of a way to - i'd love that). BUT, i also got a plugin for my winamp, which controls my music - that allows me to use the built in multimedia keys. the one problem i have is that theres a key on the keyboard that should open my media player - what it does is open Windows Media Player - can you think of a way i can program that to open up Winamp ? like a registry edit or the likes ? i was thinking if theres a way to see the output of my computer's processing somehow, i can see where it links to the WMP executable, and be able to edit that. Thanks a lot in advance, hope i didn't go too far with the explanations

Not sounding too good.
Over at Logitech there's this : http://blog.logitech.com/2009/05/29/...for-windows-7/ And then there's this : http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/su...oads/&cl=us,en If logitech is continuing their support you should be able to get the drivers you need. |

nope, i have the setpoint software but its only for my mouse (MX518) - the keyboard isn't supported.
as i said - i am "ok" with the fact that the keyboard software isn't supported any more - the thing i want now is to somehow find the registry keys that control the assignable buttons (or atleast the media playback ones) so i can change the configs - as i said, the keys do work - they just cant be re-assigned and some of them are completely unneeded if they can't be re-assigned. Thanks a lot for the help, truly appreciate this |

Maybe try a "keyboard remapping" program that is Win 7 compatible. Google it & see if anything shows up.
I use Key Tweak, but the version I have is for XP. |

edit: keytweak didn't work - the creator even says you can't remap the keys to programs, but only to other keys
![]() any other ideas ? Last edited by KoMoDo; 04-06-2010 at 12:16 PM. |

ill try that later - i did some quick search and found nothing that will cover it.
ezystvy - if it aint broke, dont fix it ? it works like a charm - its like 5 years old and it still has the same batteries that came with it.. i simply love this keyboard - i even got the multimedia keys to work as mentioned via a winamp plugin - i just want to maximize the use of it and make all the keys work.. thats it |
