Nero burning audio files problem
Hello,
I ripped an audio cd (cda files) in to a folder in My Documents as mp3 files. Then using Nero Express i burned these files onto a cd ROM where Nero converted the files as cda. Whereas the original cd plays back fine on my stereo the new cd copy doesn't play on the stereo. Any ideas why that happens? Also, is there any way to burn these files from the hard disk to a cd retaining the mp3 format?

Why are you even converting them to .mp3? To preserve quality, you must leave them as .cda or .wav files through the whole process. Seems to me if all you want to do is copy audio CD's, you should use the disk to disk copy function in Nero. If copy protection prevents this, rip the CD and leave them as .cda or .wav files, then drop those into a Nero audio CD compilation.
If you want a CD full of .mp3 files, simply create a data CD and drop the .mp3 files into that. |

How to copy entire audio cd onto hard drive?
Thanks for the reply glc,
How can you copy an entire audio cd onto your hard drive? When you go 'Copy Entire CD' in Nero Express, it opens a new dialog whrere in the Destination drive there is no hard disk option. |

Use Windows Explorer and copy all the files. Each file is a track.

When you just copy the cda files from the cd to your hard drive they are not playable. That is why one has to convert the cda files to another format, like mp3 or wav.
So, after ripping them on the hard drive you can then burn them using Nero which converts them back to cda. I tried that but for some reason my stereo dosn't play them. Anyhow, is that any way to burn the mp3 or wav files from the hard drive to a cd and retain the audio format? |

Okay, then rip them to .wav and drop them into an audio CD compilation.
Have you actually TRIED to simply copy the CD with Nero to a blank CD? |
