Question OpenOffice Writer & Scanner Access???

I use OpenOffice 2.4 and its Writer component for my word processing needs...

However, I'm disappointed to find I can't scan documents via OpenOffice Writer;
is there some good workaround or solution to this that doesn't take a rocket-science-complicated approach?

I'm running under Win XP Pro, SP II.

Thanks for any suggestions!

You can't scan into any word processor without having some kind of OCR software. What model is your scanner and what software did it come with?

The scanner is a CanoScan 4400F. Presto Page Manager 7.15 and OmniPage SE 4.0 came bundled with it.

Both programs are installed.

OmniPage SE is what you need.

Open Office can open .rtf files.
