VirtualBox or Microsoft Virtual PC

Just wondering what is better over all VirtualBox or Microsoft Virtual PC?

Right now I run XP pro that I used to use on my old desktop that crapped out a year or so ago and Linux Mint 2009 on Vista Home Premium but Microsoft Virtual PC has no USB support but I think the other does but I don't want to switch to VirtualBox just for USB support just to find out it don't work that well!

I run both on my main office pc. And yes - VirtualBox got its claim to fame becuse it does a better job with USB.

If I'm using microsoft's images for browser testing, I'll use virtual PC. Otherwise, VirtualBox.

I can see why everyone uses VirtualBox, I installed XP pro and only had a small problem with USB web cam because I forgot to unplugged it first from host PC when I installed it in XP on VirtualBox

Now I'm installing Linux Mint 2009 in VirtualBox!!!!

See how this handles USB inputs and how good it works with my video card on host computer.

Did you install the Guest Additions?

Another virtual environment you might want to consider is VMWare Player. All of these programs have their pluses and minuses.

Personally, I like MS Virtual PC the least of the VMs I've used.

Here's a page from the VirtualBox wiki on what Guest OSes work. VB Guest OSes. You can see that Win 3.11 is not on the list. Win 98 is on the list, but IMO it doesn't support in very well, no mouse support for one thing. I was able to get Win 98 running very well under VMWare Player, complete with mouse support. I don't know about Win 3.11 as I've never tried it.
