Apache License question
I looked at the source code of an Apache-licensed program, and then created an original work similar to the above-mentioned program. However, the code was created originally; no code was directly taken or copied from the Apache-licensed program.
Under the Apache license, am I required to include the Apache license in my new software, or annotate my source code in any way? Thanks for any help. |

If you had used the source code in your project, then you would have to include the license. Since you didn't, then no. Although, depending on how similar your application is to the original, you might want to include a note that it was inspired by application X. It's your decision on that one since you might be called out on it either way if your application is a fairly similar clone to the original.
